SDOP School Board Facilities Discussions
The School District of Poynette School Board has been discussing a variety of options to address some high cost maintenance items and to create a long term plan for facility needs to serve the district for the next 20 plus years.
The board has been examining the current facilities and considered staff input addressing the maintenance needs for the next 10 years and facility concerns and needs for the longer term future. Some examples of discussion items include: heating systems in each building, energy efficiency options (for example high efficient lighting, window replacements), safety and security options, access to technology and the electrical deficiencies to utilize technology tools and water runoff concerns at the Poynette site. The board has discussed enrollment, education trends, mandates and budgetary constraints as factors to decisions that must be made.
