Food Recall Notice and School Lunch Program
Many food items containing hydrolyzed vegetable protein or HVP have been recalled in the last few days. HVP is a flavor enhancer used in processed foods. The HVP in the recall was manufactured by Basic Foods and recalled because of Salmonella.None of the food products we serve with the school lunch program have been recalled to date. One case of Quaker brand baked snack mix sold at the high school with the Ala Carte foods has been voluntarily recalled, removed from our shelves, and returned to the vendor. We will post changes to the current information and any USDA updates we receive. Any questions regarding this issue may be addressed with Nancy Mair at 635-4347 203.

Coming in Fall 2010...New Building Grade Level Configurations
The School District of Poynette School Board voted to reconfigure the buildings to make Arlington Elementary an Early Learning Center which will include early childhood, special education and kindergarten students. The current Poynette K-8 building will house students in grades 1-8. We are making preparations in order to be ready to greet students in our new building configurations in the fall of 2010. We are also in the process of scheduling moving classrooms to their new assignments. We are excited about this change and the opportunities it provides our students and their education.
